Dusting Fruit flies with calcium

I have a recently hatched baby veiled chameleon (only two weeks old) who only eats fruit flies at the moment. He has had an occasional tiny cricket or very small super worm, but flies are his favorite. How do I dust these with calcium? Someone in another thread said to put them in petri dish to dust them, but they are quick and won't stay in one place for long enough. I shake them into a dish by where he likes to sit. Should I shake a little in there?

Put a tiny amount in the feeding dish, gently shake, serve. Nothing fancy.

Put a dab of calcium in a plastic cup. Dump in your flies. Shake it bit. Dump them into your cage. If you can see the calcium on the flies clearly, you probably have used to much.
