It could be, but it's hard to tell without pictures. If your feeders became opaque white ghosts, then it is too much. I like to dust them in a solid cup and then transfer them to something with mesh on the bottom to gently shake off excess dust

Not an exact science, but yes that’s fine. There should be no parts of the feeder completely caked and clogged with the supplements. You should be able to see the colors and contours of the feeder easily through the dust.

If they look like complete ghost crickets, you over powdered. "most of the time" it isnt a problem, but some people buy the "ultra fine" stuff ,or have moist feeders, inwhich case they can get way over powdering. But for most folk just load up the shaker cup and go to town is perfectly fine.

I prefer to not touch roaches or crickets -- but that feels like a waste of money imho. I just use a cup and cover it with my hand to shake.

My experience is the crickets look almost all white after dusting, unlike the dubias. The dust doesn't appear like it clinges to the roaches as much but that's just my visual assesment.

Shake them harder. Dubias can take it. Crickets usually can't. I mix dubias like im mixing a protein shake

Same with supers. You gotta really shake those puppies to get anything to stick to them.

I use this and love it! I get a light dusting and the leftover supplements fall into the bottom of the container. So I can easily pour out the feeders.
