eating veggies and fruit straight from my hand.

i have a veiled that will eat small bits of kale, carrots, apples, and oranges right out of my hand. It doesnt seem like it would do harm, but is this normal?

Yes it is they'll also eat the plants in your enclosure which is why its important to have safe plants.
