This is a really neat system.
One point to mention I would set your misters to go off an hour to an hour and a half after sunrise/lights on. The first part of the morning it is very important for some species to bask and charge their batteries for the day. An early drink and an early long misting may interrupt that habit. In the morning for the first hour of the day I have seen my Parsons basking in the greenhouse, when Parsons are a species that is not supposed to bask. As with the greenhouse and similar to this system the lighting for the early day and late evening is gradual and may evoke a more natural basking pattern for chameleons.
Nice, I want some (darts and eco zone). did you get the network issue resolved? Keep us posted.
p.s. What's the plan with the fan?
I would place it high up... so the output is very little.... it's more of a nightlight I guess... and you dont want it giving off heat. I haven't played with that part of it yet... I suppose I could with my leopard gecko. I have her setup with the standard ecozone at the moment.
All I find are the rj-11 ones, his were rj22. I could try and rig one up if I buy rj22 plugs, but I was hoping to just find someone with extras or not using their unit anymore. We bought 2 of the ez400s a LONG time ago, i finally hooked them up 2 years ago and I love them! It's been a long time since I've seen that name. EcoZone Vivarium was a sponsor here 10+ years ago. They produced some great products at the time and Tony was always a wealth of information. Unfortunately, I don't think they had enough sales to sustain their business.
I don't have any contact info for Tony. Hopefully someone else does.
Is nobody producing something similar today to their temp probs?
Any luck - I'm in the same boat - got t2o EZ400 controllers but also only 2 temp probes. All I find are the rj-11 ones, his were rj22. I bought some 10k rtd's off amazon and crimped an rj22 on and they seem to work. The stock ones I had measured at 8.5k. The temp sensing is very close, close enough to dial it in with a temp gun like I usually do anyway...Any luck - I'm in the same boat - got t2o EZ400 controllers but also only 2 temp probes.
The problem is that there are a lot of different 'temp probes' thermistors, thermocouples and RTDs, plus newer '1 wire' digital sensors - and then mix in the fact that there are different sub types in each category, plus the plug type RJ9/RJ22 and its pretty hard to match something up without knowing whats what. I think I found a contact lead for Tony and sent him a message, perhaps he'll get back to me. Even the 10k RTD that feflicker ordered is only 'close' to the original probe type. If I don't hear back from Tony I'll probably go down a similar path. It's been a long time since I've seen that name. EcoZone Vivarium was a sponsor here 10+ years ago.
