egg laying

could u also tell me what the main signs are for a female ready to lay and can u see the eggs well when she still carrys them

I have never been able to see eggs with my female veiled except for when she was mated and carrying the fertile eggs. They put on weight, they get restless and roam around, go to the bottom of the cage and sometimes will not eat.

Because the signs that a female is ready to lay are sometimes subtle and thus missed, I recommend putting an opaque container (12" deep x 12" x 8") in the cage so that the female always has a place to dig to show you when she needs to lay eggs. Once the female starts to dig you can move her to a larger egglaying container.

Also, when a female is digging don't let her see you watching her.
