Eggs Hatching?? **(pics)**

Hey everyone! I have some panther chameleon eggs cookin' away and they are at the 8.5 month mark and showing signs of hatching. I am only concerned because my previous clutch was not successful at hatching. The first clutch started showing signs of hatching right before the 8 month mark--the eggs would sweat, and shrink in size, but the babies would not come out. Only one baby actually hatched from those eggs but died a few days later. I eventually opened up all of the eggs that never hatched to find perfectly formed, but dead, babies. So, that was devastating and I'm hoping that this clutch will be different! This clutch is the results of a retained clutch...so it is from the same mating as my first, unsuccessful clutch. Anyway, here are my concerns:

2 of these eggs started sweating last night, but not excessive sweating, i just noticed a sheen on their surface, like they were moist. Today, the egg that was always the biggest, like HUGE, is a darker color and smaller in size. It's like it is shrinking, but not really sweating a lot, and not denting. Here are some pics, too.

I am noticing the little "windows" that appear when eggs are near hatching on the other eggs, so this is reassuring. Any advice, suggestions, words of wisdom, etc would be greatly appreciated! Do these eggs seem like they are about to hatch based on my description and the pictures?

I suggest you get some fruit fly cultures ready. Those eggs are gonna hatch in the next day or two.

See ya,

Todd

Well I found this when I got home around 10 last night...and it's still just hanging around in that egg. How much patience does one person NEED to breed chameleons?? :) Im learning that it's a lot! How long do they usually sit in the egg before they come out?

I've had them sit pipped for up to 48 hours before coming out but they usually come out within 24 hours... Patience grasshopper

Patience patience.... the words that you DONT wanna hear right now...haha.

I remember being pumped about my first clutch and the first baby that pipped didn't fully emerge from the egg for over two days. I thought I had surely done something wrong but slowly and surely over the next three weeks every one of the eggs hatched!

Make sure you have the food and cages ready... they are coming!

Mine are sitting in the egg now for over 48 hrs motionless and just came out when I got home at night. I was very skeptical after being a few days.

Yep good observation Veiled , I googled pipping hatchlings not emerging :), So in hand I didnt make a new thread and commented on something that has been worrying me . Basically stressing me out.

One out of the 5 cracked has came out but is slugglish compare to the last clutch that just came out active as can be. Its a bit discouraging some times.
