Eggs not doing well

Hi everyone - me again...

We've had our eggs incubating since June of last year - yes, June, - regular veiled eggs... at 74 degrees, 80% humidity - they're all quite large now, and I can SEE veins in them - however, two have "burst" open and I've found a 1/2 formed baby in there- totally developed, just not "grown".... they look like they stopped growing around 4-5 months incubating time...

My question is - WHAT for the love of my babies, am I doing wrong? They're in tupperware containers with moist vermiculite (spelling) - we never "bother" them, turn them or touch them... But all the eggs are like an opaque color like a light tannish - hard to explain - they're not white, and they're not hard like an Egg...

ANY suggestions/ideas?

Thank you!
Glenna

Take a picture. Try raising the temperature a degree or two and see what happens. Sometimes it if warms up a little it can trigger hatching. Bursting might be from it being too moist.

i incubate my eggs around 78 but i wouldnt of thought that would happen at 74, what substance do you have the eggs in?

Are you incubating them in the dark?

Wow. Interesting question. Were not. We have some panther eggs in the dark closet but these are in an incubator in the laundry room. Are the supposed to be in the dark? How do I upload photos from my iPhone?

Thank you all for your questions/answers.

We use vermiculite. It is not too moist or dry. But I'm obviously doing something not quite right. Anyone live in Oregon that cowls be willing to come take a look? That would be awesome! ;)
