I you the wipe as soon as they poop also. I make sure any leaves or anything else on the floor is removed. The drainage on the cage should assure there in no standing water in the cage.
I also take each cage outside at least twice a year a deep clean it.
Like others have stated, spot clean as necessary, and keep water from sitting. I also usually rotate plants and clean them with dish soap and water in between rotations.
How often do you rotate and clean plants ??

I just spot clean and search for poop, urates, that have fallen on leaves.
Clean the floor every day, wipe branches that come in water cantact all
day (slimy!!) with dry paper towels.
I pull most of the fake vines and stuff out twice a year and replace with
all new ones.
And I clean with 12% hydrogen peroxide, rinsed with copious hot water.
Lots and lots of hot water.
Copious: Abundant in supply or quantity.
Now everyone is outside so the routine is different, but when I had the reptile room I would clean the floors of the cages 3-4 times a week. With the exception of the baby cages, everyone else was full grown so they weren't eating or pooping every day and this was often enough.
Also, because of the way my cages are set up (with the plants suspended in the air, nothing sitting on the floor, and utilizing lots of sturdy branches instead of big plants) it was much easier to pull out the bottom, clean it with hot water and whatever cleaner, and put it back. Also, due to how the plants are I never had to touch them except to trim them a little. I had a pothos in each cage which grew like weeds so every few weeks I would trim up the ends a little, but I never had to swap them out.
