Enclosure Cleanliness

Hi;Tiffany; I clean daily as soon as they poop in the morning i clean right away and wipe up any excess water before bed so no mold will accumulate-hope this helps you some-buttons.

I you the wipe as soon as they poop also. I make sure any leaves or anything else on the floor is removed. The drainage on the cage should assure there in no standing water in the cage.

I also take each cage outside at least twice a year a deep clean it.

Like others have stated, spot clean as necessary, and keep water from sitting. I also usually rotate plants and clean them with dish soap and water in between rotations.

Okay , he's still in his baby cage so I keep paper towels on the bottom and change daily. I wash all his dishes and dripper twice a week and spot clean as I see it. I wipe the bottom out good daily as I change papertowel too.

Okay great I was wondering how often to do a full cage deep clean.

How often do you rotate and clean plants ??

Odds are when the plants start dropping leaves. The cham cage is not kind to plants. The constant misting and climbing will take its toll on the leaves. I have 2 sets of plants and rotate every 4 months between the window and the cage.

Now everyone is outside so the routine is different, but when I had the reptile room I would clean the floors of the cages 3-4 times a week. With the exception of the baby cages, everyone else was full grown so they weren't eating or pooping every day and this was often enough.

Also, because of the way my cages are set up (with the plants suspended in the air, nothing sitting on the floor, and utilizing lots of sturdy branches instead of big plants) it was much easier to pull out the bottom, clean it with hot water and whatever cleaner, and put it back. Also, due to how the plants are I never had to touch them except to trim them a little. I had a pothos in each cage which grew like weeds so every few weeks I would trim up the ends a little, but I never had to swap them out.

I just spot clean and search for poop, urates, that have fallen on leaves.
Clean the floor every day, wipe branches that come in water cantact all
day (slimy!!) with dry paper towels.

I pull most of the fake vines and stuff out twice a year and replace with
all new ones.
And I clean with 12% hydrogen peroxide, rinsed with copious hot water. :D

How do you position the pot Olimpia? I want to have my Photos' pot suspended but my alumunium cage doesn't have the hook to position the pot. Also, what kind of branches do you use?
How do you spot cleaning the branches?
Thanks.

As for myself, I have the cage outside with Ficus and Photos in their own pots. I spot cleaning every other night and spray the whole cage with hose every week after wiping any excess uretra at the bottom of the cage. The set up of my cage is very static and will be time consuming to remove any branches, so I just let them be all the time.
