Enclosure Floor Board

Just wondering what is the safest way I could do to change the floor board to black?

I am hoping to buy the 24x24x48 enclosure tom from lllreptile along with the extension but their floor board only comes in white and I dont like the white floor board since it becomes dirty quite easily! What steps could I take that will be safe and not overly expensive?

Buy a specific plastic measured the same size thats already black? Can I paint it with a specific type of spray paint?

Your help is much appreciated! :) :) :)

You could just put fake vines and plants along the bottom to help cover it and have it look natural,it will be a pain if you free range feed however.

I don't know how to post a link. In the last few day someone posted a DIY enclosure. It was really nice. He purchased a vinyl decal to cover the floor. It was a picture of the jungle floor. I thought it was real roots a leaves. The thread was from member Banksy and he got the floor from Canvas Chameleons.

Unfortunately that will be more of a hassle to clean! :(

Hmmm...might be worth a shot! I usually drill holes on the floor though for the water to fall through but ill look it up! Kinda interesting to see! Thanks! :) :)

There is a product called Plasti Dip you can get in different styles at someplace like Home Depot or Lowes, but they make an aerosol can version that would probably work well. You spray it on like spray paint, but it makes a rubber layer basically. I would give it plenty of time to cure, though. One nice thing is that once it dries, if you don't like it, you can start in one corner and peel the whole thing up in one big sheet and it comes off clean. I use it to make tougher, but still removable "mats" on my work bench. The more layers, the better.

Hope that helps!

Thanks man! Helps a lot! Actually really familiar with plastidip! Just didnt know if it was safe! I modify cars and some guys give the plastidippers a hard time for using that on their luxury car!

Thanks man! I will give it a try! :)

I ordered my reptibreeze online and it came with a black floor, is that uncommon?

Sorry for the derail - although to be fair you got some vital information.

Black here too but the picture on lllreptile does show white and I have seen them in white elsewhere. Ebay I believe.

Yes newer reptibreeze has black! I have a 36x18x18 one that has black floor but im getting the lllreptile cage so I can put an extender on it and make it 6ft! :) :)

I have a 2x2 fake turf panel on the bottom of my cage it's awesome. It lets water through freely, the bugs can't get under it, and I just take it out and those it to clean it. Plus it's soft, my Ivy sometimes gets clumsy when her feet are shedding, this is comfy to land on!

I have to be honest, I don't know that it is or isn't safe. I would think that you should be alright with it if you give it ample time to set up since the chameleon shouldn't be in contact with it much, but maybe someone else can chime in. I would hate to lead you down the wrong path is my concern.

Man! Im gonna need a ladder to get up there and he likes to climb! The stand is about 2ft already and with the 48" cage its just a little higher than me already!

Oh dang! Was really hoping this was tested already but I hope someone do chime in!
