i do remember why i ordered them, was for more light for my plants since they seem to die off too quick....

I would bet that they don't have any UVB. Natural Sunlight usually just means 6500K light output. They work good for additional light in a cage but they can not replace a good UVB bulb. Another words if you want 2 linear florescence bulbs in a cage they can be the second one, the first one still has to be a ReptiSun or ReptiGlow.

correct get the UVB light to keep your cham in sunshine and the other lights for your plants sunshine-

Or Arcadia D3.
:D

I'd buy... if I weren't committed to T8 ZooMed

Has anyone had any experience with the Arcadia bulbs?

You won't find many on this forum from the US with any personal experience since they have not been imported for retail use until very recently.

Todd at lightyourreptiles.com is the first and only importer as far as I know.

They are great lamps... but the 10.0 zoomed and the D3plus from Arcadia are very similar and both are made in Germany. when comparing the T8s.

The new style T5 looks cool, something I would like to try out... but I would need to convert about 10 fixtures to T5 ballast and then buy all new 6500K T5s and then the UVB lamps (20 lamps, 10 ballasts, 40 lamp sockets).... not worth it to me, I'll stick to the ZooMed T8 10.0s since I already have a stock of them and there isn't a big difference.

NOW, if I were just starting out, I'd buy the arcadia and go T5 since it is the future of lighting.

But for ZooMed to have just changed to T8 in the last two years here in the US and having just converted all of my current fixtures to T8 from T12... I am not in the mood to spend a bunch of money... again lol.

Todd, do you know if Philipp's makes a dimming ballast for the T5 yet? That might convince me to swap over since I'd like to have dimming fixtures for my EcoZone.
