Enclosure plants

My brother has some "granfoleous" spear plants in his fish tank with cichlids. They're growing like crazy and I'm just curious if anyone knows if these are ok for chams or may be toxic? I want to get a clipping and see how it grows. May put one in my Chloe's enclosure if they're safe...any advice from those who are familiar with plants?

Check the safe plant list. It can be found on Google and I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a link on this forum somewhere. I'm fairly new and still learning my navigation

"Sword Plants" come primarily from the Echinodorus genus and are marsh or bog plants from the tropical western hemisphere (North, South and Central America as well as some islands in the region). While there are around 3 scientifically accepted species, many species are cross-bred and propagated by hobbyists and nurseries to create numerous variants and hybrids.

While swords may grow emerged in the wild (with their leaves out of the water), they are well adapted to submerged life in the aquarium as well. Emerged plants grow flowers, while submerged plants will reproduce by sending out runners to grow new plants. Most swords need high lighting to thrive. They also benefit from a nutrient-rich substrate and iron and CO2 supplements, especially in heavily planted aquariums.
Water n bright light will be a must for this type of plant, unless u willing to provide that environment on ur veiled enclosure, which will be a bit of the challenge on the submerged parts.

I just bought a hibiscus this morning at Lowes... cleaned and.repotted it in organic potting soil, put rock on top and put it in the encloser. I went and did some errands and came in to check on my boy and he had eaten almost one whole flower .Is this normal?

I'm pretty sure veiled chams eating the flowers from a hibiscus plant is pretty common, and they will eat other veggies and fruits as well (unlike panther chameleons).
