enlarged heart, oblong liver

New update for Mars 2 yo veiled). She is still weak, falling more often. Oddly still a hungry girl, though.

Still no conclusive diagnosis. Did another round of x rays, and found an enlarged heart and oblong liver. The vet said there may be a link to depression, which I've never heard of before. Anyone else? Just picked up milk thistle for the liver. The vet wants to do a $350 ultrasound.I've spent over $1000 in just the past few months on bloodwork,meds, x rays, etc. It's getting ridiculous. She's slowly getting worse.

Anyone have experience with liver issues or enlarged heart?

Please post photos of her X-rays.
I recommend a second opinion from a vet with chameleon experience.

Depression???

I'm no vet, but that doesn't sound like something I have seen in chameleons. I would love to see some of the x-rays as well. Did any results come from the reptile specialist they sent the x-rays to? I might at least want to see someone who has more experience with chameleons if possible.

I thought only advanced animals with feelings could experience such things as depression. Totally strange and it doesn't sound feasable to me.

Just posted x rays. My vet sent them to the specialist. It's just been a lot of "I see this, but I don't know why it's happening, let's try this, see if it works, it didn't? ok more exams and tests"

mabye try to get your vet to arrange an ultrasound as xrays are to penetrative to be used for organs.they pass through less on denser materials thus leaving a white mark for where the bones are. ultrasound will give you and the vet a better picture of whats going on as the sound waves dont penetrate like a radiation source does. they just bounce back. almost like an echo.

humm technically, any speacies with brain receptor can have a depression.. but.. how did this vet know this is a depression?

He suggested an ultrasound as soon as he called me about the x Ray findings. Will be $350 for the ultrasound. I’m not the type of person to give up on a pet because of cost, so of course I will do it, but I’m really digging myself into a hole here. I’m hesitant to go see a specialist because I know he is communicating with a specialist, and I don’t want to go somewhere else to hear the same thing. I probably should’ve gone there in the first place but now I’m invested
