Everybody look my renewed terrarium

Hi, I think your intentions are definatly good, You put alot of work into that Terrarium! I really dont like the compact florecent though, it would also be nice if you could get the basking bulb outside the cage. But i see you made a cage around it so thatll help, as long as the wire dosent get too hot! As far as the bungees... I donno man, Its a quick solve for climbing and looks ok, but iv had those snap over time on me, especially since its in the light all the time and getting wet. Id rather see you have some sticks, bamboo, or somthing that dosent have tension on it. you then can later get a pothos and train it to grow along it. It will look wicked, but takes a lil time. Patience is key, sometimes you gotta let it grow in to look the best. I really like the matting you have on the back and sides, it looks really great, And good job on the overall cage!

Good luck to you.

I would hate to see what would happen if one of the bungie cords let go.

you would possibly have two veilds, a north end and a south end

Like it has been said, we are not trying to beat you up, it just is not a good setup. you gave it a good try but thats as far as you got. i think you will find, if you put more live plants and actual branches and fake or real vines in there your cham and you will really appreciate the look and overall appearance of the cage. plus your cham will love the increased hiding places that more foliage will provide. like i said if makes it a bit harder to take care of, but it makes for a much better home. if you get a pothos ivy and hang it from the top, while having the ficus from the bottom, inter-twine the ivy along some branches, and also let some hang into the ficus you will find that your cham will have plenty to climb around on.

Hi guys, I contacted my friend and he will put that long UV in my cage and get rid of the compact one. He will put lights in cage so he won't be able to touch them. I will get a pothos too and cover it over the bungee ropes. And don't worry for bungee ropes to let go. I checked them from very carefully.

Here they sell only repti-glo 5.0 and 10.0 Is that lamp OK?

Repti-glo 10 is what you want to use. If you could find Reptisun you would use the 5.0

Why bad idea. I keep eye on temperatures my friend. And I don't mist lights, but even if I spray them I think they won't explode. They did never explode for now. :)

I would personally drill a large hole in the top and place your bulb on the top of the cage.
If you keep all your lights out of the cage, you could put vines from opposite corners to corner.

If you happen to mist your bulb for more than a few seconds with water, the bulb will explode, and as mentioned misting around electricity is like creating a path for the electric to jump straight into your hand.

You've got a few holes already drilled in the top, why not fit a small dripper above the tank?

My personal opinion is, loose the bungy cords and get a 3rd much bushyier plant. Give your cham somewhere to hide and be unseen.

very creative use of everyday things. I think if you can change the lighting situation you would be on your way to a very good start.

One thing you could consider is pulling the roof off of your cage and replacing with screen. that way your basking light and UV B light would or could just sit on the mesh. When you recieve your tube light don't for get to remove the plastic shield in front of the tube light as UVb is filtered but it. :D

More cover be nice too whether it is fake or real or a combination of the two.

Hope that helps.

poopy and how! id rather use dirty diapers for my chams than to let them spend one minute in there hahahaha jus kidden its wonderful your some kind of decorator you get an a for effort

I would question the air circulation in that encloser. The only side that is open is the front side. I would agree with everyone who said to open the top and put Mesh down, not only will that get those lights out of the encloser it will allow air to flow through the encloser. I do like the way you used everyday items to build you encloser. I woull also agree with training the Pothos to follow most of the bungees and sticks. Very good attempt at the first encloser now it just needs some fine tuning and the Cham will be all set.

Thats one of the best suggestions yet!
This inturn will allow you place ALL your lights (and tubular UVB lamp) on the top, making misting safer and creating a more natural air flow through the cage.
