Can he eat this?? I just found it in his cage.

yeah your cham can eat it. And it could be a superworm, looks like it. could also be a mealworm, hard to tell from the image, but its definately from a super or mealworm. safe to it.

the ones I have seen are either black, or I have seen whitish ones but not that color. Not saying it cannot be, just have never seen a brown super beetle. I just had two worms turn into beetles and they are pitch black. My cham wont eat them!

they can't fly as far as i know. and my cham looks at me like i have 3 eyes when i try to feed those things to her. extremely picky

I collect them to mate them from the cages and they can be a little brownish before they turn completely black, they go through color stages. They do not fly or bite, I handle them easily and my chameleons won't touch them either, I heard they taste horrible don't have personal experience with that!:p

I agree, it looks like a superworm beetle. I fed a few superworms to my tarantula and she wouldn't eat them (hunger strike for 6 months). The worms ended up turning into beetles in the substrate. The spider is now eating crickets and all is well (no more superworms). I never thought of feeding them to my cham as he is still too small to eat those large beetles.

Those are actually very healthy for your chameleon. They contain a lot of protein and calcium for them. Me and my roomie almost prefer to feed ours the beetles. The male loves them as well as the worms :)

Yeah, they can fly too........they don't often bother, but they can. Mine won't eat beetles but they had a couple when they were younger....
