expired supplements safe??

I purchased a small thing of zoo meds reptivite with d3 from the family run petshop around here. However, I noticed when I got home before I cracked the seal that it expired in 2007. I went back and asked to exchange but apparently zoo med gave them a discount and that was all they purchased.

I was informed that they are fine as the seal was intact.. however I am still skeptical. I do know that in Canada they put expiration dates on things like workout supplements which in America they dont.. so I am unsure.

They also have sticky tongue farms and repashy supplements. Would I be better with any of those??

I would not use expired supplements on my chams. They expired 3 years ago it should be against the law for them to even sell them IMO.

Im not sure but I wouldnt chance it :/
hopefully some one with some supplement experience can help. :)
But I mean it was 3 years ago.....

Where did you buy that from?
I wanna check out that craphole lol.

I think the only supplement you'd have to worry about is the D3 as it will break down over time.. if I recall correctly.

yeah well this has d3 in it..

If it's unopened take it back and tell them that you aren't buying something that won't have it's full use.
Tell them it was cheap for a reason and to research what they are buying. I wonder how many other people they have "ripped off".

That's low for them imo (my buddy disagrees though lol).
I would have expected them to make something up about it still being good rather then come out and say it was cheaper.
They probably didn't realize that it would be any different.

If it was plain calicum I wouldnt care about the expiry date.
however Im of the understanding that vitamins can degrade over time, and as the ones used in reptile/animal supplements could actually be expired human vitamins to start with, well... I'd take it back.

Sticky Tongues is a good product. Get that instead or shop elsewhere.

just shell out $20 and buy all new supplements, i wouldn't chance expired ones and they aren't that expensive.

i use:
repcal no d3
repcal with d3
repcal herptivite
zoomed reptivite

also the sticky tongue farms miner-all with and without d3 is the same as the repcal calciums? should be used with same frequency? just threw me off because it states it has a bunch of minerals in it, its not a multi vitamin is it?

im not worried about the money... it still cost $7 for a small bottle.

id think the miner-all name would be a multi vitamin... but thats a guess

I would not chance it. It expired three years ago..

Go back to the store and ask for a refund for selling you an expired product and either buy the vitamins elsewhere or look for some other vitamins they had for sale there that weren't expired and exchange them for those instead.

There's an indoor and outdoor miner-All supplement. I beleive the one with the yellow cap has d3 and the one with the red cap has no d3.
