eye crust?

so still, does anybody know about the substance in his eye because that is of upmost importance to me right now, the health of my companions come before anything else and some unknown substance is still preventing him from closing his eye

If you’re saying that you pulled some hard thing from his eye and he still can’t close it I would just take it to the vet. There’s people with a lot more knowledge than me in this forum but that’s just what I would do. But what everyone else is saying is just as important. People really don’t seem to get the importance of proper husbandry until their chameleon gets sick or dies. You can’t short them of any of their needs because the consequences can be quite serious.

No, no one has a clue what was in his eye because you still haven’t given us a single picture to work with. Do you realize how vague “something strange poking out of my veild chams eye” is? It could be anything, we are not mind readers. If you want us to help you you have to put forth some effort! And even if we do identify it your still going to have to take him to the vet to get it fixed. It is not the internet’s responsibility to take care of your Cham, it’s yours, show some effort!

Chameleons don't have eye caps like snakes do. They sometimes retain some bits of shed in their eyes when shedding. It is better to flush it out or let it shed on it's own rather than pull it off as you can damage the eye or lid. Chameleon's who are retaining shed probably have a nutritional or husbandry issue. This is probably the case with your because of the previous owner's care. The suggestions made above could help correct this problem over time and prevent reoccurrence. I will continue to follow this thread and see if you are able to upload photos. I'm sure the other concerned forum members on this thread will also.

I found out how to upload, and I called the vet turns out to be shed from the turrets, they said not to worry, the other side fell out perfectly fine and he is back to normal, I got rid of a lot of things and we're redoing his set up now. the attached file is what I pulled out of his eye.
