Eye Issue...... Dr. Needed?

I can't tell you what is going on with the eye....but his head pads are deflated...they should be puffed out not sunken in. This could be due to hydration or fat stores or even age...or even something else. Just wanted to mention it so you could mention it to the vet along with the eye.

Good luck with him!

Yeah, He came to us with very low "Head Pads" they are perking up slowly now that we are giving him the food he needs, he was also a little dehydrated, but he seems to be on the right track now. I am waiting for my vet to call me back, his eye was fine all weekend, but since this has been going on for a few months I need to work with the vet to see what's going on :) Thanks again for your info :)

Sorry to Hijack the thread but I just got a male veiled about 10 months old tonight and his one eye will stay closed but he will open it after a bit. So I have started putting distilled water on his eye with a syringe and he is now in his new cage with my misting system. He has a good appetite and was drinking water directly from the syringe. He does appear to be dehydrated just from his sunken eyes. I will keep a close eye on him and continue to spray the eye with distilled water and give him drinks 3-4 times a day from the syringe. Anything else I can do that I have not started doing? He did see the vet and the vet said to just rinse his eye out (this is what the previous owner said and she showed me the vet bill so I know he was seen)
