Eye issue gone but still worried

I take my veiled to the living room tree next to a window with a heater towards him. Yesterday around 3:30am I noticed one of his eyes were barely open. I couldn't see if there was anything inside. I found him rubbing it against a branch he was sitting on when he should have been asleep. I was concerned it could be the heater that's faced at him as it's blast may be too strong.

I checked on him again and his eye seems to have gotten better. I'm not sure if I'm wrong about the heater and something got into the eye which he was able to clean away through his morning misting.

Should I still take him to a vet? In the meantime, what can I do? I know that might be difficult to assess when I don't know for sure what the eye issue is but wanted to make sure I'm doing everything I can towards prevention.

I'll post some pictures.

Yes he is dehydrated which was observed by my vet. I am attempting various things to keep him hydrated, such as, feeding him fruits and veges, gut loading his insects with high nutrient foods (collard greens, kale, carrots, squash, apples, etc.) and he has 20-10 min misting sessions 5 times a day. I give him showers once a week. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

He had coccidia which he underwent treatment for about 2 months and he was better. His visit to the vet for another fecal is coming up soon. You can refer to this thread for the help form and other info on his history. https://www.chameleonforums.com/threads/parasite-gone-still-not-eating.159905/#post-1375956

You said..." I was concerned it could be the heater that's faced at him as it's blast may be too strong"...maybe it's drying his eye out?

Also...do you run a dripper as well as mist the cage?

Is his cage still in the attic near the windows?

I was thinking that as well, drying out his eye. I think I'll just discontinue using it at him. I used to use a dripper but eventually stopped because it broke. I didn't use a new one because his urates are white now.

You can use a tall deli cup with a tiny hole in the bottom that drips at the rate of one or two drops
It's per second for a dripper...cheap and effective! ☺
