I have a three year old nosy be called Sebastian. For a couple of years he's had a long-term problem with his left eye which has always been slightly sunken, and which he struggles to keep open for long periods of time. It seems to irritate him and I often see him squeegeeing it
We've never been able to establish the cause of his problem. He eats and drinks normally, is misted and enjoys showers, and loves the humidity in the bathroom. He is generally lively although not quite as spritely as he once was.
This morning his left eye was closed as usual. I fed him four locusts. As I reached to pick him up, a clear fluid began to drip down from his left eye which suddenly deflated and has now sunk deep into his skull. I did not touch his eye as I picked him up. However, just before I picked him up he was squeegeeing it.
Currently he does not appear to be distressed. He's perched on my head as I write this. He's making that soft clicking noise that chameleons sometimes make.
He has been moulting strangely and unevenly. His skin became very wrinkled and, where it has died, it isn't peeling off very easily. His droppings and urine appear normal although he was recently constipated. We will be going to he vet, but I wonder whether anyone with some knowledge might be able to prepare me for what might be wrong.
Many thanks
