Failed egg.. at 5 months please help

Can you tell by this picture if egg is infertile.. .i have had for 5 months n it failed... deflated a lot and molded

After five months, you would have seen a defined fetus within the egg. It doesn't appear to have any fetus, so it must be infertile. Did your own cham hatch the egg and is there more to the clutch?

No i purchased it from someone. Thats what i thought.. i should have seen veins or anything when candled them.. .the fact it lasted 5 months baffles me...

Eggs usuall do not survive that long if they are not fertile! Something must have gone wrong with the embryo!

I agree with Camryn. Unfortunately I’m becoming somewhat of an expert on what failed fertilized eggs look like at different stages of their development. That egg was not fertile.

What was your incubation temp and humidity? Also, how often did you candle it?

Depends on when it broke diapause. If it didn't break diapause before it failed you would not see any body or development inside.

Temp remaied farily conststant throughout while process...

It is not uncommon for infertile eggs to go on without moulding for a good long time. This egg was infertile.

Sorry didnt see this post.... temp has been 72 to 74 degrees .. as for humidity the person i got it from mixed the substrate. Fairly sealed. Container But where i kept it the 60%s... candled once wass all white.. but person said give it time... at that moment had feeling it was most likely infert..
