Hello. I was wondering, will a chameleon try to eat fake plants? Are they harmful in any way?

A veiled/Yemen chameleon might try to nibble one. If it did mange to bite off a piece & swallow, worst case might be obstruction.
Personally, I wouldn't chance it; IMO live real plants look better anyway.

If you’ve already acquired fake plants, they can easily be hung on the outside of your enclosure to provide your cham with a sense of more privacy.

My veiled cham treats her plants like an all you can eat buffet (the poor pothos), so definitely be cautious about using the fake plants. When I first started out I had some fake leaves, she was smart enough to figure out it wasn't edible after trying to bite it, but still concerning enough to switch over to live plants for safety
