Fast shedding?

Hi all,
My 2.5 month old ambilobe Specs here just went through his first shed since being in my care on the 13th of this month.. and then he went through his second shed today on the 26th. I thought that was pretty dang quick to shed again.. is it normal? Also, the first time he shed, it only took just a couple hours, and by the way it looks now, this one will too.

I know younger chams go through rapid growth but should it really be that fast? Lol :) I always read that it should take at least a month between sheds.

When younger my cham shed once every two weeks like clock work. When around 6-7months they will start to shed once a month.

My male Veiled went through a very fast shed cycle when he was around that age; 2 weeks or less once or twice in fact. So my best guess is that it would be normal. Besides when chams are younger they grow at a faster rate than when they get older, so it would be natural for them to shed quickly while they're young.

This is very normal. They shed so often because they're growing. Make sure to keep the humidity up when you see signs of shedding, to ensure it's speed and to make sure he gets all of the old skin off.

I agree, totally normal. When I have a cham shedding, I make sure to give them a few extra warm mistings right on them to help out. Good luck!

Thanks everyone. :) I was just making sure.

Yeah, I knew to mist him while hes shedding. He seemed to enjoy it.

In my experience, Fast sheds are due to lots of growth, My tegu's very frequently when they are shedding and as far as my chameleon goes, when i first got him he was finishing his shed, around two weeks later he was shedding again due to growth, ( no i don't over feed) but the certainly do have growth spurts. I'll put my chameleon in the shower with a large potted plant to hide in, the humidity will help with the shed as will warm mistings
