Although I'm breeding banana roaches super worm, and meal worms an I'm very proud of my success rate with all three of them.. I wanted to add a new dish to the menu.. So I'm choosing silk worms am I better off hatching the eggs my self or buying worms and starting from there? I understand there messy but anything for the chameleons :) I know I need server all containers.. As far as food should I just buy the chow... Last note is seems very time consuming daily feeding changing out the containers cleaning poop! Is it worth.. Any information is welcomed or you could just link an awesome silkworm thread... Thanks

If you have a mulberry tree its worth it. If you are using the chow it sucks.

Mulberry tree:
Throw eggs in
throw leaves in
leave at cham temps
leaves will dry out
add more leaves
frass and dried leaves will remain at lower layers
worms migrate upwards
at some point they all cocoon
They lay eggs on leaves
put eggs in fridge in old coffee can
horrify family for months

repeat.

With the chow its like raising bubble boy. Everthing has to be clean. SLudge has to be perfect consistancy. Getting the eggs going is a work of art and its like raising kittens without mothers.

That's just killed All the lil motivation I had about silks.. Do you breed them if so do u have the mulberry tree?

A good variety changer is Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and each female has 20-60 little ones each month. If you want starters I will have more available in 1-3 weeks.

Yeah, Roaches get kind of a bad rep but I love and handle mine anyway XD (P.S How much does it take to start a banana roach colony?)

Hissers? Do you mind messaging me?

I'd be more than happy to get another bin for some more roaches. Currently I have dubias, but I want some banana roaches or hissing roaches.

I'm also breeding mealworms and superworms. :)

Banana roaches are easy its the flying thats sucks!! Have to put lids on top of lids with screen on top of screen they fly everywhere lol

I paid 40 to start my colony up... About 30 mix size nymphs an three adults just extra I added iv had around three months.. And there producing rapidly.. There super quick but the cams love them.. But I always mange to find One that out not sure if there coming out my bin or feeder cup.
