Fasting?

Don't think every little thing that your chameleon does wrong is bad. she might have eggs (chams and many other reptiles will have eggs without breeding)
well the new mister is fully functional. I covered one side with a towel. The age I have no idea, but between 3-7 months, the humidity is 50-70, the heat is 65-85, and she is eating normally again. Thanks for the people who are trying to help, and vice versa.

That makes perfect sense to me, but I really doubt someone who has absolutely no idea why their chameleon isn't eating when the ambient temps are 60F will have a clue what you are talking about.

I don't know what to make of this thread and how to respond.

Can someone own a chameleon, be on this forum and not understand the effect temperature has on a cold-blooded reptile? If they don't understand how temperature affects their chameleon, do they understand anything about the nature of any reptile?

I've personally come out and said it before, but how long are you all going to respond to this guy who only reads what he wants to from what any of us offer in the way of help. He doesn't even bother to learn things on his own despite the awesome resources available in the care section. He toots his own horn.

I do recall saying it won't be long before we see him in the health care section starting up new threads. Good luck to those who post in the hopes of helping.

So....your dad broke your chameleon's heat bulb.....and you still don't have a new one?? What's wrong with using a regular incandescent light bulb? It's what most of us on here use for heat/basking lights. Could you not in the few days since the bulb was broken have figured out some way to provide heat for your chameleon?

It is what we are here for. Not everyone will respond just how we would like, but the chance that they can learn and improve their husbandry is far greater if we are still helpful and not attacking. I understand your point, but there are animals that are to be considered. We all start somewhere.

Maybe consider buying a four pack so you can change it immediately next time.

Decadancin...Nicky has multiple threads on here and some of them have photos. The chameleon has gone from only a month or two old to several months old, from male to female, gravid to fasting. Nicky doesn't seem to listen to any advise we have to offer for the chameleon and said he had a gecko that wasn't doing well but didn't give me information could use to help him with the gecko. Nicky says it died a few days ago. Nicky is supposed to be 13 and get A's in school....so I would think could understand what we are saying. The only reason I post now is in the hopes that information I post helps others who read the threads...and if Nicky really does have a chameleon the information will be used to help it.

Understood. I can see a lot of frustration from some very experienced members, and I did see a few threads and even started answering and deleted my responses out of inner frustration, but I just don't like when the forums take on that negative feel. It could turn off some who are seeking some help for a similar issue and cause them to go elsewhere. I truly believe the best information and experience is right here, so I would hate to see this happen. I too suggested that Nicky try a household bulb for now just to remedy the issue, and did not get any response. I was hoping that a figurative "lightbulb" would go off and that this could turn productive, but only time will tell.

I don't like the negative vibes either..it chases people away who's chameleons need help.
This is the last post I'm going to make about Nicky.
I absolutely agree with kinyonga and other members about negative vibes. And it needs to stop! Nicky has posted 33 threads since October 8th 2015
All of his questions have been answered over and over again. His questions have been answered very graciously by many members trying to help him only to be met with rudeness and a smart mouth attitude. By now he should be able to set up an appropriate enclosure to take care of his new female veiled.
Not replacing the heat bulb ASAP is unacceptable and he knows this! He knows that 60 degrees for a baby chameleon is too cold! I don't care how old he is!
He should have been banned months ago and I suggested that and everybody felt bad for him because he's a kid?? Age doesn't give you a pass to be irresponsible when it comes to taking care of your pets! There are a lot of responsible people of all ages young and old on the forums that take great care of their chameleons to the best of their ability and I admire them for that. Nicky isn't one of them. That's all I have to say on the subject.

This.

It's all down to response. This kid is a crock. So stop responding. If he ever has an actual problem that he can back up with photos or in depth information, then give him guidance. But boosting his nonsense questions to page after page makes people think they're important. Just don't respond unless he genuinely needs help. Right now he's still just looking for attention. Were all feeding the attention. He knows what's right and wrong for the most part, you all have said it more than enough times. Until there's a legit concern, just read it and move on.
