I got my 1000 crickets from critter depot yesterday.
Got shipped from PA to WA in the 2 day USPS Priority Post.
I'll post the pics and you make your own assessment.

The box has a grate (pink) for air
Double layer egg crates for the 1000 cricket order.
There were about 50-60 dead crickets at the bottom after it was emptied out (which I find acceptable after a 2 day trip).
I'm going to say the 1000 cricket count is definitely pretty good.
My assessment - great value at $20 shipped (that is $0.02 per cricket with shipping included).
