Feeder snails

Just a note they do need light so get a clear container and they are stronger than they look and can push lids open if they don't latch a little.

I use about 4 inches of soil, a water dish full of small river stones with the stones above the water mark for the adults only. They are dumb enough to drown if they fall in.
The restaurant business expects you to cook them so I don't know how concerned they are about parasites. I expect the adults will be too large to feed but if you separate the eggs before hatching and raise the young separately you can avoid parasites.

About how deep they lay their eggs and how do you dig them up and move them into a new bin? I've read they are fragile. Do you bury them at the same depth you dug them up at I'm assuming?

Mine came from Greece, that's what I worried about to but they arrived in about 9 days and no DOA & packed very good! Mine are kinda dormant now, and I should mist them more so they get active ! Once you get them going they lay eggs like crazy!
Just curious did you have any problems with parasites from the snails on eBay from Greece? Or did you seperate the eggs just in case?

I left the eggs in with the adults! Maybe next time I see some poop I'll try and do a fecal and find out

I wouldn't freak out they are farming these snails for human consumption. It just doesn't guarantee that they don't have some parasite load like any other mass produced feeder. Separating adults from eggs is good to prevent parasites being passed on.
I'm using wild caught adults I have to do it.

Awesome thanks a lot!! Is it pretty easy to spot where the eggs were layed to transport them into another container?
