Feeders..?

What worms are good choice to feed my Cham as a bit of variety apart from waxworms beacuae there used for treats and mealworms occasionally because there hard to digest and are fatty.

I have lately been feeding him silks and butter worms. Sometimes he is more enthusiastic than other times... I get a sense that he likes the silks most. Sometimes he goes for the butters and sometime he just lets them fall on the floor. The phoenix worms he seems to leave or take. The challange for me is getting him to see them. I had a food dish on the bottom that worked out really well for meal worms because they last a while so when he went on his prowl he would see them. Rarely did I see them get eaten immediately but given a day I would walk in and see them gone. Butters and silks tend to to die off too soon and phoenix are kind of small so he often does not see them.
Lately, I have been putting the silks on the leaves of his ficus. Then tend to fall off and hang by a silk thread and spin around so he sees them, gets really excited and goes in for the kill. I was thinking of putting in a treat ledge closer to his basking area for everything else. I can tell he likes the variety though.

My veiled has take food from my hand since the first day I got him. he will even shoot at my finger soometimes until he realizes I'm just cleaning up his poop or some dead leaves then he flares up and hisses or lunges at me lol.

that being said I have worked pheonix fly larvae into his diet pretty easily. also feed mealworms on occasion. I like to mix it up a little lol

good luck
chris

another vote for silkworms, butterworms.
a few hornworms.
cabagge loppers
even the occassional superworm.

AllFallDown - butters should last nearly as long in bowl as mealworms - at least days. If yours dont, find a new supplier
