i got a 3 month old veiled chameleon last week, i have been hand feeding him locusts, crickets and meal worms, just wondering shall i start putting in a few locusts and crickets in his enclosure for him to hunt them, or will they bite him? also how much medium sized locusts/crickets should i feed him a day, i've been giving him about 8 a day plus a couple mealworms

For a 3month old baby veiled,I will suggest let him eat as much as he can without the mealworm part since it has no nutrition and highly addictive, you can replace it wth the silkworm or gutloaded dubia roaches, usually at the end of night I take out all the feeders from the chameleons cage, reason one to re gutload the vegetables to them again and two just in case they disturbing ur cham during their rest hours, these are just my experience for u.
