If this is the only way you can get him to eat, but I would think the constant handling would stress him out. If I were to handle mine right before eating I wouldn't be able to get them to eat. He also needs his heat lamp to help him digest his food. In general it seems like a good idea, but I can see so many issues with this. Will he not eat in his cage?

I tried feeding him in his screen cage but he doesn't seem to eat alot

There's a lamp on the feeding cage to let u know

Well if this is the only way you can get him to eat, and he doesn't seem to mind the handling, and it works for you. Then I guess you got to do what you got to do. Good luck:)

You can try a feeder cup inside his main enclosure.

My chameleon likes to act like he doesn't eat a lot, but when your not watching their most active.

It's in their DNA to hide and not expose them selfs to a potential predator.

Tried that didn't work

A suggestion that may solve the problem. I often use a larger plastic box to present my feeders to a cham. Its sort of like your "feeding cage" idea but you place the feeder container in the cham's cage with a climbing branch that leads right down to the rim of the container. Either put the container on the floor of the cage (avoid flooding it with misting water), or wedge it into the main cage plant. Your cham can watch the feeders moving around in the container (they will be more active than if they were in a smaller dish), can climb down to just the right shooting distance he happens to prefer, and hunt at will. You will need to add more climbing structure and foliage cover to your current cage. It is too bare for a cham to feel comfortable right now. He's probably spending too much time trying to stay out of view near the top of his cage which is why he isn't eating as much as he should.

Maybe off topic but could help, that reptibreeze looks sparse, could be cham feels vulnerable and has not enough cover. Heres my XL for my female veiled, by no means do you have to go batshit like me, it had a fern 3 magnetic rock ledges/planters a pothos two live trees a fake branch and 3 vinesand assorted fake bushes...they feel more secure covered, remember they are in trees, so leaves are naturally home and a safe haven for them

The screen cage you are keeping your cham in, I would agree with the others, looks very bare. I would say it needs much more foliage as well as more branches so your panther can actually climb around (More horizontal AND vertical branches) while feeling safe and secure. Otherwise he'll try to climb on the mesh of the cage, which I hear isn't good for their nails. Add a plant such as a schefflera, pothos, ficus, etc.-.
