Feeding Dish

Does anyone know of a type of dish that will help keep crickets in instead of them hoppin around all over the place? Right now I'm using 3-4 inches plastic bucket. Some are not smart enough to make it out but most do. Any help would be appreciated.

Use a milk container. There is images here somewhere I just can't find them for some reason I'm sure someone here has them.

I remove the hind 'jumping' legs from the crickets and locusts. Crickets find it difficult, if not impossible, to get out of any smooth sided container without their jumping legs! :D :p The locusts still climb though, but I hand feed Lily her locusts every morning so they don't get chance to escape!

I'm not one to be squemish with bugs usually, but gross. You personally mangle an insect before feeding it to your cham?
If that isn't service, I don't know what is. 5 star chameleon diner over here. :D

Of course!:D Nothing is too much trouble for my girl! Love her to bits!! The bug leg thing was the only way I could deal with them when I first got Lily. It took a long time to get used to the bugs! I used to put them in the fridge for a while first to slow them down, but I don't need to do that any more! (I'm a big brave girl now!!) :D

I use a rocks glass...one you put alcohol in like Scotch on the rocks. I have spots in the branches of my plants where they fit. All my chams sit looking out for me in the morning and you can see them watching the glasses as they come towards their door.

That actually sounds like a sweet idea. Unfortunately there's no spot I can see where one would fit. I can imagine it would be be extremely difficult for the crickets to get out though.

I use soup bowls and coffee mugs.

Be cautious of using a glass or anything see-through / clear. You dont want the chameleon to try to shoot through the glass.

If you break or remove only one jumping leg, they dont tend to jump out of even shallow containers.
