feeding method in action..

This is such a good idea! I just got my new ambilobe 2.5 month old. He's not in a free range but I hated how my crickets would disappear. I'd put 7 or 8 in, but he'd only get one or two. Next I tried cup feeding, he ate one or two the first time but nothing after that (that I saw anyway). Today I made one of these and he was using it within an hour or two to not be petrified of it. You're a life saver dude!

Do you find that your crickets can do backflips out of the container? I have had a BIG problem with that. Its sucks because i need to know how much he is eating. Any thoughts? Also....do you find that the larger crickets tend to be less likely to flee that the medium size ones? Mine were medium...i was thinking that maybe they are more active...i dont know.

For the backflip-problem: it may help to have them stand in the fridge for some minutes before putting them inside there. Thes get less active when it´s cold and once they´re in, there´s no longer a reason to jump around.
Great idea btw

nice idea but i don't get how the crickets can't get out of there.! they must have escaped before......idk how to believe they never escape from the cut out container. that is a sick idea tho, I'm just having a hard time believing crickets can't escape it.
maybe i have a thick head.

I dont know either but I just went to the store to get my self some Sunny D!!! I will try just about anything to keep these suckers contained!:p

Well, just as i wrote, as long as there is no reason for them to escape they won´t try to.
Why should they want to get out of this seemingly safe shelter?

that actually makes sense. i got my crickets in a tub with egg cartons as their shelter. technically they can climb up and get away, but since there are the egg cartons they don't bother running away.... i might actually try this container thing.....
