Feeding & Misting Schedule Question

So, I got my veiled Oscar while I was off on break for school. I had his lights on a timer for 9:45PM to 8:45AM, and fed him around 9:30 AM. Well now that I started school again I'm gone from 7 to 3:30.

So now I have his light from 9:30PM to 6:15AM Is that okay for a time schedule.

I mist him Once before I leave and 3 more times when I get home, is that enough? (He is currently in a glass cage, but when I get done building my custom screen cage i'm going to get him a MistKing)

My big question is should I feed him before I leave, or when I get home?

I am no expert lol....but I leave very early as well and this is what I do

Loki is a 5.5 month old veiled chameleon male

So my boyfriend gets up at 5am and turns Loki's lights on, then I get up at 5:45 and get his dripper full and spray down the cage....then around 6am I put his crickets in for him, by that time he has had time to warm up and is ready to eat...that way he has all day to sit under his heat lamp and digest. Then he is normally ready for bed around 6:30pm...at which time we turn his lights out....oh and our oldest daughter sprays down the cage once or twice during the day depending on when she is home...and then we are home by 5pm and he gets another spray.....

I mean his lights are off from 9:30PM to 6:15AM

Ideally your lights should be on a 12 hr on/ off cycle mimicking sun up/ sun down . Do you cup feed? If so you could put feeders in a cup before you leave for school. Be careful they don't get wet with spraying or it will wash supplement off.

I just got him 2 weeks ago, I'm currently just feeding him crickets in his cage. I did order some butter-worms and put them in a cup but he showed 0 interest.

I am wanting to get him so horn worms, repti worms, or dubias. But it's just to cold to really have anything shipped to me.

Butterworms don't move very much. Dubais are ok when you get them. If you put them on their backs they wriggle. If you have time you might want to look into breeding silkworms. They are great feeders but are a lot of work, but well worth it.

There are dozens of ways to do this. Dozens of different types of timers and controllers.

Why not get teh Mist king now rather than later? You can use it now and later?

I do have a simple timer on the lights, its just in the morning he'd wake up anyways because I have all my bedroom lights on, and same at night.

And don't want to get a MistKing now because I have a glass tank, and don't want all the water marks left on the glass.

I get up for work at 0500 and turn lights on at 0600. The boys reluctantly start their day then, however when I get home at 5 PM or so they are usually already tucked in for bed so I shut the lights off them. I am thinking that as the days get longer they will be awake longer.

With the mistking you would want to use distilled water or reverse osmosis water, tap water will clog the nozzles. Distilled water will not leave water spots on the glass at all

Ive heard that silkworms smell really bad though?

Silkworms don't smell. There chow smells of mulberry which I don't mind. Crickets stink!
