feeding my baby yemen..

i need some help on feeding my new baby yemen, hes so tiny and is on size 2 crickets? they are absolutley tiny!

anyway, im cup feeding him but the little things keep jumping out of the cup and because hes so small i cant use a massive cup as he cant get out, so i put a small wooden cocktail stick in (ends filed down) for him to get out or get in but the crickets climb up it and leap out!

He also doesnt seem to understand that the food is in the cup, hes brown in his mesh tank and then if i get him out he walks straight onto my hand and goes a lovley shade of bright green! ive only seen him eat once when i got him out and put him on the side of the cup and he ate one, so now ive attatched it too his fave branch and im hoping that he eats something! I dont want to be in there watching him all the time but i cant tell if hes eaten anything or the little crickets have jumped out!

any advice? im just a worried mum here lol

When my chams are small i use glass shot glasses, in a solid or opaque color. If you let the crickets calm down before removing you hand or whatever from the top I find they are stupid and mostly walk around in circles and dont acctually jump.

My cup is .99 from walmart and is a good size for chameleons of all ages. The ladder you see is made from hardware cloth from home depot. This particular cloth has a rubber coating. Make sure any edges are cut smooth.

The ladder is an inch from the bottom, and I've never had a feeder escape. When shes hungry, she climbs in and picks off feeders, then climbs out. I cut the bottom off and hot glued screen mesh to it so that bugs don't drown and, if the chameleon wants, she can crawl on the floor without slipping. It is an excellent design for all feeders, and I think superior to the milk jug design most people use.
