So how do i know when my veiled can eat bigger crickets.

Shes 6 months now, shes never left a cricket in the feeder cup just emptied always, i usually put 15 to 25 small crickets in there and once she finds them and starts eating they all are gone in a few minutes.

To look at her id say she could eat bigger crickets but of course i thought id ask first.........

at 6mo they should be eating full sized crickets. but use the rule of thumb: feeders cant be larger than the distance between the eyes of your cham.

Yes ive seen this statement before and its confusing to me maybe you can help clarify it for me. So from tip to tip my large crickets are almost a inch, wouldnt that be the distance between the eyes of an adult veiled female. In short i have to wait till mine is full grown to give it full sized crickets cause thats about what itll take to have almost an inch between its eyes, and an inch between its eyes would make its head quite large. Anyway you see my confusion with this, and i wanted to be positive before i go possibly choking it....

The "between the eyes" rule applies to across body (cricket) measurement. not the length which is what you seem to be confusing.

So you could have a 2" long cricket from head to tail but .25" shoulder to shoulder (not including legs) and it would still be OK if the distance between the chams eyes was bigger than .25".

Hope that helps
