Feeding Schedule Question

Been quite some time since I've been on the forum viewing or making posts.

I'm sure this question has been addressed many times.

How often should I/ do I need to be feeding my veilds? Last I read; babies and juvi's can be fed as much as they can because they are growing, sub-adults/adults/older adults every other day?

Please correct me if I am wrong because my BF is making me feel bad that I am not feeding them as much as I used to. I explained to him that I've read that adults do not require feedings as often.

Our female is over 2yrs old and has had 2 large clutches (fertile) already. To prevent further large clutches, I know feeding needs to be controlled.

Our two males are 1 1/2yrs and 9months.

Thank you!

You're not being mean, it's true that adults don't require the amount of food that babies do. So don't let him make you feel bad ;)

This link will help a lot as far as your female and egg-laying: http://raisingkittytheveiledchameleon.blogspot.com/2007/12/keeping-female-veiled.html

Essentially, she recommends keeping female basking temps in the low 80's (I don't usually go higher than 83ish) and feeding them 7-10 appropriately sized feeders every other day or two. You could feed daily and only do 1-3 feeders, for example, but the idea is that you slow down her metabolism just a little with the lower temps and then feed more moderately, and both these things keep her egg production low or on hold.

For the males it's very similar (but without the basking requirement). They can also get 7-10 feeders every other day or two. Once they're above 6-8 months old they usually don't need to each a whole lot more than that.
