feeding times

hi guys. i know that panthers need a 12 on 12 off light cycle. my question is. does it make a difference if I turn lights on at a specific time? what time to turn lights on? some say feeding should be in the morning where they have enough time to bask and exercise. since I work all day, my bearded dragon lights go on at 230 and shut off at 11pm. I feed around 5/6pm when I get home. would this be ok, or should I try to have lighrs on at 7 and feed at 8 before work? then lights off at 8pm? also, I usually watch tv til aboit midnight so there will always be light in the room even after cham light is off. all advice appreciated

Some keepers create an artificial "day" and "night" due to working the night shift, whatever... The trick is not to have natural light interfere with your artificial times. If you have a completely dark room you should be able to coordinate your cham to your beardie. As for feeding, most people feed early in the morning but my my guys eat better after they have had a chance to drink and warm up so I feed them mid-morning, a few hours after lights on and have had to problems, so you should be fine there.

thanks. ye my place haa blinds that are always closed during the day. i guess since my BD was able to adjust to the times, im hoping my cham will too.

I always feed my guys in the afternoon. I don't think they have a problem with digesting after eating late. I doubt they only eat in the morning in the wild, they eat whenever they can.

I just have my lights in sync with the sun and don't worry much about when they eat.

My veiled chameleons eat at random parts of the day. They're never interested in food when they wake up. .. only 3-4 hours after.
