My Panther cham female is gravid. She is digging or laying eggs right now (i can't see her, i cover her cage with styrofoam, for privacy) and when i'am near the cage i hear some noises, squeak or creak. İs that normal???
I'm turkish, my english is not enough to tell the correct noise, sorry. :(

I know Littleleaf's girl, Olive made a squeeking noise when she was dropping slugs. I'd think it's probably because she's in a bit of pain while laying eggs. I've had 3 kids without drugs, and I did a bit of squeeking myself. ;)

Here's Littleleaf's thread about Olive. The link to the video clip is on the 2nd page of the thread.

Yes, she made squeeking noises while she layed egg. I know that because i have 27 infertile eggs right now!!!:D
I wish next time her eggs will be fertile. :)
Thanks for your help!

I have no problem understanding what you are trying to convey in your posts. Your English is pretty good. Keep an eye on her, from what i understand females can lay a 2nd batch. Keep that eye laying bin handy.

Thanks again, but WHAT? Can females lay eggs two times in 1 week? Even she layed 27 eggs can she lay more, can be any more eggs still inside of her? :(

Can i see (or understand?) that she is carrying more eggs or should the laying bin stay in her cage? And should i give her still privacy?

No, she is probably done laying her eggs. Watch her to be sure she doesn't show signs of illness just in case. When they lay retained clutches from matings, they usually lay them within about 3 months or so. They usually lay 1-2 clutches from retained sperm after, but I have heard of some females laying as many as 4 with fertile eggs. I recommend always having a laying bin inside her cage with her. Just in case she needs to lay eggs again and you haven't noticed.

I have had success getting two of my females to never lay another clutch after laying their first by cutting back feeding and keeping temperatures low. Feed and water her well for a few days, then cut back on her food intake a little if you want to try and prevent her from laying anymore/laying smaller clutches (or at least until you want to breed her in the future.)
