Female not eating

My female just layed her eggs, since then she hasn't been eating. It has been 21/2 days. I'm worried, is this normal? Should she go to the vet?
Thanks!

If you haven't been able to find someone to see her yet I would try to get some kind of food in her, just so she has something in her system. Not eating for over 20 days is what I would consider serious in a situation like this. Perhaps get a cricket into her mouth and see if she'll swallow it, or put a little bit of fruit baby food into her mouth with a syringe if you have one on hand. This is what I would do anyway, I feel like I wouldn't want her to go downhill without anything in her system to give her strength.

Only reptile vet in the area isn't open til next week, I got some crickets into her yesterday and been keeping fluids in her.

The worry about a chameleon not eating again right away after she lays is that it might indicate a problem...like she didn't lay all the eggs, etc. There are still some who don't eat again right away that are okay...so its a hard call...just something to watch.

She passed away yesterday, I thought she was getting better. I am heartbroken and I wish I knew what happened. :(

question for olimpia

Question? How do you get your females to open their mouths? My females have to have their mouths forced open and I hate doing it I feel like it stresses the hell out of them. Any easy tip would be greatly appreciated!

Don't beat yourself up... laying 36 eggs for what i assume was a panther female is a pretty huge clutch... maybe next time feed the pregnant female less so her clutch isn't as big and it doesn't take as much calcium and nutrients from her.

I had to pry her mouth open as well. She was a veiled, I think since the clutch was so large she was to weak and couldnt pull through. Atleast I have her eggs.
