female veiled chameleon eye problem?

i have a 3-4 month old female veiled chameleon and she keeps scratching her right eye. when she is on me she'll use my finger and move her head back and fourth to scratch it. and when she is going sleep, she doesn't close it fully. there is no discharge of any kind in or around her right eye. so, i was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is something i should be worried about, like an eye infection starting to happen, and if so, how could i stop it from getting worse.

Pictures will help. Although I'm not familiar with this problem, there are people here that will probably have some information. You will probably need to fill this out.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

If the eye looks normal, it is probably either something stuck in her eye or a vitamin A deficiency. If it is something stuck in her eye, you may be able to get it out with water or pure saline, and if it is a vitamin problem there are ways to fix that as well. However, if it is an infection or something more serious you would need to take her to a vet.

I would recommend filling out the form and posting pics as suggested. It is really hard to diagnose this kind of thing without seeing it.

i have a female veiled chameleon, who is 3-4 months. i have had her for around 1 months. i hold her everyday, around 4ish for an hour or so. and then i hold her again at 8ish to feed her some worms. (i cant hold her in the morning because i have school) i am feeding her 2-3 wax worms and 5-7 crickets a day. i am dusting them with calcium with vit.D every other day and the herptivite 1-2 times a week. i mist her enclosure 4-5 times a day, plus she has a water drip leaf. and i see her drink often. her fecal droppings are white with black.. nothing unusual. she is very active and healthy, she seems to be growing quickly too. she is living in a exo-terra glass enclosure with dimensions of approx. 3x3x2 ft. i use a uvb light with a red basking lamp during the day and a purple night lamp for the night. day temperature is around 80-90f and drops to around 70 at night. no live plants, all are silk. not by any fans or vents, just recently moved into a more private room. and im from Calgary AB

This is her face, and there seems to be nothing wrong with her eye at all. But it's mostly when she's sleeping it doesn't shut.

to me she looks dehydrated. I'm not sure if that's the reason for your problem, but definitely up the mistings and get a dripper going.

This is the best I can do at the moment. But I have noticed when she is sleeping there is a white cover over her pupil, but her eye is not fully closed.

What type of vitamin supplements are you using, and what do you gutload the feeder insects with? What kind of UVB light are you using?

I would start with the shower method. Put her on a plant or branch in the shower, and have the water bounce off the wall onto her. It should be just mist hitting her and not water directly. This will allow her to flush out her eye in case there is something stuck in it.

we are giving her herptivite and we gut load our feeders with fluker's. and for the light we are using a 5.0 uvb.

the shower method worries me. when i mist her she jumps around a lot, it would be a good idea, but not when she is so young. ill just keep misting her, and hopefully that will help it.
