Female veiled eating sand in the laying bin

There's no guarantee she won't eat the potting soil too...so what's the lesser of two possible evils? Which, if any, will pass through her?

The odds are quite big that she was not after the sand! There probably was a bug you do not notice and she did! You have received some great advice this far. Put in a nice deep bucket for her to go play in when she is ready to lay her eggs! Make sure there is a way for her to get in and out of the bucket by herself. And feed her some variety of bugs and greens, she needs it! And yup, her age does not exclude her from the possibility of being pregnant with infertile eggs. Best of luck and hand in there!

I've used a sand produced by Kings for years. It comes in a whit bag with red, blue and yellow sand box toys on the front. It has always passed through any chameleons that have eaten it and never caused an impaction.

Ok so for a bit of an update, she did end up passing some sand (about half a tsp) and she seems totally fine. I ended filling a 3 gallon plant potter with moist aand and am leaving it in her cage, she doesn't seem to be interested anymore. I am now feeding my crickets a mixture of cricket crack and repashy as well as normal food and the blended fruits/veggies I mentioned earlier. As of this point she hasn't started trying to dig in the sand at all.

Maybe its not the time for her to laid eggs yet,has she slow down on her eating and pacing up and down in the cage?
Try post some pic with ur cage and set up so we know the situation she is in.
5Gallons bucket its way better than the 3gallons with at least 10 inches deep and a branch for her to climb in.

This is her setup

Try get a deeper bucket, the surface of the sand its way too close with the edge of the bucket,a gravid veiled female will eat non stop until she is ready to lay then decreasing her feeder intake, and pacing up n down the cage until she finds those safe spot to lay out her eggs,a deeper bucket with 10inches plus sand will be a better choice in a 5gallons bucket.
