Hi! My female chameleon who’s a year old started showing these colors today. She is normally purple and peach. Any explanations?

Has this beauty laid eggs before? I’m not familiar with females but if she hasn’t she may have eggs and need to lay. I just know their colors do a drastic change.

She will have eggs even if she hasn't been with a male, you will need a laying bin. I'm pretty sure you can use 50% play sand and 50% soil. However, @MissSkittles knows a lot more.

Like @Sherbertsmysunshine said they do lay eggs but unless they’ve been with a male the eggs will be infertile.

True confession time! I have a lady panther, but she’s never laid eggs and so I’m not sure exactly what gravid coloration is for panthers. Your little princess will develop eggs whether or not she’s even seen a boy. To prevent egg laying problems, do follow the advice in my blog for veileds. Start the feeding regimen after she lays and not before. Always keep a lay bin in her enclosure just in case.

Thank you so much for the info. I will be purchasing a lay bin today as per instructions. I was also advised to cover with a sheet for her privacy.

She will turn a black and pink color once she is gravid so your little lady isn’t there yet. I would get her laying bin set up now though Here are some pics of a gravid female.
