im a little worried about the whole gravid process for a female veiled. im unsure of how old she is but i think shes around 5-6 months. she still has the basic green color with some nice white lines coming in on her belly and bright green splotches on her side none the less shes a chubby one for sure..

just a little info...
she eats about 10-12 meal worms a day and she wont eat anything but "worms" in general. Ive never tried dubais or any of the roaches mainly because they aren't very easy to come by in Florida.

i have her in a pothos hanging from the ceiling with an 18" 5.0 and a 75 watt bulb. i open the blinds for her during the day so the sun comes pouring in but still doesn't make the room to hot and i know chameleons and windows don't go together but she cant really get close to them or even see out of them for that matter.

she poops / pees / eats / sleeps / looks like a champ but shes becoming quite the chubster so im assuming shes got some pastries in the toaster if you know what i mean ;)

i havent gotten her a laying bin yet because shes still up high in the pothos and eats on a regular basis and as far as i know the 2 main signs are lack of eating and searching low in her environment.


any help would be greatly appreciated

Just put a bucket full of moist playsand in her container, and don't bother her except to mist or feed, and if she's digging just leave her alone completely, don't even let her see you. She knows what to do.
 
try to lay off the mealworms beacuse of the high chitin rating. try roaches and silkworms. Instead of mealies try supers with waxworms and pheonix worms. Dust her food most days and she should be fine. Make sure the substrate in the laying box is wet enough as it will callapse aas it did with my cham. Put a pic and we can see if she is gravid.

marine fish
terrapin
and lots of outside fish in a pond
With 60 veiled eggs on the way i will be busy, Ill find it hard to go to school
 
im gonna go with you breed your own feeders hahahaha

i cant imagine the cricket bill at the end of the week

i breed my own mealworms which is the easiest thing ive ever done so i highly recomend it.

my list of 4 is 2 dogs a ball python and sasha my veiled
 
try mealworms

just bulk order about 1000 and put them in a tupperware. let em sit feed em yada yada and in about 3-4 weeks youll get pupae and after that beetles

Mealworms are not good for your chameleon. They are hard to digest. Try superworms and silkworms instead.

Although many chameleons stop eating near egglaying time, not all of them do. Roaming the cage is usually done though...but the safest thing is to have some place for her to dig in the cage so you don't miss the sometimes subtle signs that she needs to lay eggs.
