Ficus Benjamina

Hey, I was just wondering if anybody here uses a ficus Benjamina and if they think it's any good and how fast it grows because the one I'm looking at isn't too big at the moment which isn't much of a problem. I plan on putting in front of the tree to the left of the encloser. Don't mind the Tupper wear under the pot because I haven't found a nice stand yet lol and he's not sleeping, he's just relaxing lol. This camera isn't the greatest either

Hello there!
I have a ficus benjamina in my cameleon's cages. It is great, and it grew to the front (towards the plant light) and to the sides. It does take a while for it to grow, but it depends on the light and how you take care of it (watering, trimming, etc.)
see the picture I attached of my initial set up with the plant.

Wow that thing is huge compared to the one I'm thinking of buying. The one I'm looking at doesn't look like a tree. It has like two branches that are sticking up with little branches sticking out and it comes in a kind of small pot.

i use them but i use huge ones in my adult cages. there good trees for chams but they grow slow. i also use umbrella plants in my cages and they probably grow 3x faster the the ficus

Yeah, this one is 'braided' so it looks more like a tree. I had a small pot of this same 'braided' ficus in the small cage, but my chams quikly grew and were transfered to the 2'x2x4' cages (like the one i pictured).

The small ones go for about $20 and the large one (like in the picture) go for about $35 at HomeDepot.

I would buy that tree if I can find one at home Depot that would fit lol they are all so tall

Ya I found them at Lowes but not the tree type. The ones I found are the plant looking ones that are gonna be kind of bushy and they are pretty small

the lowes were i live have both. they have big braided trees and small ones and they also have big huge bushy ficus's and small ones.

I have about 6 of them and rotate them in and out of cages weekly. If they stay wet too long, they drop their leaves.

Mine is doing great! I am getting new leaves popping up a lot lately and rarely loose leaves like I was with my umbrella.

Here is a pic of mine

Here it is when I first out it in

It has gotten much fuller in the last few weeks, just wanted to include this picture to show you the density

Well I ended up finding a ficus tree and I just had to grab it. The guy at rona said that they only spray water on it because they have had everything inside but I gave it a good rinse anyways and re potted it with some new soil. I live the tree and Marley seems to like it too. He went inside it then came out and walked around and then decided that's where he wants to sleep lol. I'm happy with the way it looks and I'm sure it will help with the humidity. I also came home to notice all his feet are shedding :) here is a pic of what it looks like and for some reason every time I post a pic from my phone it ends up showing sideways
