where are good places to buy a ficus i wanted to buy one for my chameleon i just got her a 16x16x30 so i need a great environment starting at the base plants if u have a better suggestion feel free to offer

Ficus is a great choice! I am currently have 2 umbrella plants(small ones) in my guy's cage. They were $4 each at WalMart. Just make sure you wash the plant really well and replant it in some organic soil, which won't cost you much either.

Also try Lowe's and home depot. And don't look at walmart price on line just go over to the store. good luck.

i bought my umbrella plant from home depot small for 99 cents and a medium about a 2 feet tall for about 3.67$ if i remembered correctly

Home depot n lowes pretty much have everything you need plants, pots, and a variety of soil. Like said before use organic soil and no fertilizer or chemicals. Also if u get an umbrella plant make sure its a schefflerra arbicola (spelling?) The other breed of umbrella plant is toxic to chams

Right now my local Home Depot has select plants 50% off. I'm going today. I have two hibiscus plants that I used to keep in the enclosure but I think I killed them because they don't have anymore leaves so now they're outside. I'm getting Arcadia lighting with the next shipment so I'm not as worried about killing plants anymore. ;) I'd love to find a healthy hibiscus this time of year but I haven't seen any for sale lately.

Organic soil will not contain fertilizers, and it is fine-grained so no large pieces, no pearlite, no bark, no stones, etc.

Hibiscus or umbrella trees are great if you cant get a ficus. Just make sure you have good lighting for plants as well as chams.

thats my biggest prob my cham is far from the window and its winter time so idk how to maintain the plant i have my uvb for my cham and basking bulb

I have also experienced issues with keeping plants alive, and I'm not sure if it's the lighting or my habit of over-watering via my misting schedule. At any rate, I've ordered Arcadia lighting so I expect to see an improvement in keeping the plants alive based on that and slightly adjusting my misting schedule to be a bit more plant-friendly but still chameleon-friendly. For what it's worth, my chams aren't near windows, either.
