Finally shedding

I have a 3 yr old male veiled who has been having problems with his shed the last 3 months. His humidity has been kept between 50 and 70. Now I just moved to Texas from Chicago and the Texas humidity is higher but in our house it’s the same as it was in Chicago except the humidity in the reptile room is natural and not from misters or drippers. Now my question is is there a difference between natural humidy and the humidity i made with with misters and plants? Cause 70% humidity is 70% humidity . Needless to say once I got to Texas his shed finally just blew off.

I would say you made changes to his diet or husbandry while you had him that made him shed better. 70% is 70% but light, nutrition and temperature contribute to growth and shedding.

I’ve had him since he was two months old and never had an issue except last winter was one of the driest we’ve had.but now that you mention it the room he is in is much more brightly lit. and humidity always stays up . No fluctuations. I’m not sure but I’m just glad his shed is finally coming off.

You got that right.i was Born and raised in Chicago and 42 winters was enough for me

I moved from IL/MO to Florida when I was 59...have not regretted it yet. I don't even like to go there for visits.

Well I have family I have to go visit but you can bet it will definitely be in the summer other than that they can come visit me

That's when I go...but we are getting old enough I think the Family should just come here too.
