Finally!

I am now the proud owner of a 16 month old male blue barred ambilobe panther chameleon! His name is Incognito, Nito for short, and he was sired by Hunter of FL Chams. He is extremely handsome!

Can't wait to break out my Nikons for him.

Welcome to the forum. He is indeed very handsome.Do you have him in a bird cage? Quite a few members use them. Wouldn't work in Scotland though. Too cold.LOL :D

He is very handsome indeed. I don't like birdcages though personally, they are very rarely large enough for a chameleon of that size, and they get hot from the heat thus easily burning your chameleon.

Oh no, he was only in the bird cage for transportation.
He is in an XL mesh cage from LLLReptile. The bird cage was only for the car ride:)

I'm glad everyone agrees that's he's a looker! :)

The guy I bought him from, also gave me everything else chameleon related he had. So that's why there are two cages there. Nito is in the one on the left, and I will eventually get a female for the right side.

That guy is a looker, very nice find. I would add a couple real plants and you look ready to go. Good plants are ficus and umbrella trees. Keep the pictures coming.:)

Thanks! And I've been looking into live plants for him. My main concern is basically staying away from fruit flies. (His set up is in my bedroom, and I'd rather not deal with those pesky flies.)

Go with the ficus, I have used them for years & had nothing but good results - they can take the water everyday and can be trained as they grow...just my 2 cents though....Schleffra are also good too, and pothos are proven useful too - no need to worry about FF if you choose these in my experience.

awesome, your male is very handsome indeed! I would love for my female to mate with him haha.. they would make amazing looking babies for sure. Definitely want to work out a deal with you.

beautiful guy you got there! I love his belly spots lol, you got a good deal to get all that stuff with him!:D

@Gene- I think I will try out a ficus and see how he likes it.. I saw a few while I was at home depot (my home away from home) and it seems like a good size or the enclosure. Do they need more water besides the water it will get from the mistking?
@beek0- they are both beautifu chams, so they would definitely make pretty babehs lol
@cricketkilla- lol first off, clever name. And thank you, he's a heartthrob! And it was an amazing deal. I don't think I'll ever find another deal like that one.

Nito looks great! He has a wonderful array of colors on him!

I would definitely get some live plants for him like others have suggested. You can keep the fungus knats down or rid them all together with a layer of sand over the soil in the pots.
Ficus, schefflera, hibiscus, and pothos are all easy, safe plants imo.

Congratulations on your new addition!!! :)
