My biggest fault is I tend to over do things and there's no exception here. I'm not sure about the dark stained trim between the enclosure and the stand. I think I should of went with a light stain and made the trim 2", what do you think?

I think it is awesome!
What kind of screen did you use?
What is the size?
How did you take care of the dripping water and misting?

hey Justin,

1) Its black aluminum screen.

2) the enclosure is 48" tall x 48" wide x 24" deep..the stand is 24" tall

3) For now its going to be hand misting and ice cubes until I get a system from Jason. I just don't have to time to work on my own system. This way it gives my son something to do.

Awesome!
Where did you find you aluminum screen?
Ditch the ice cubes, they are far to cold. Try a dixie cup with a pin hole.
Make sure to poke the hole from the inside of the cup.
HerpMist is really good, but I wasnt clear on my question. sorry
How are you collecting you dripping water?

Looks awesome, great job!!! And we build reptile cages. www.beegerboxes.com. I think the way you did it is just great the way it is. What are you keeping in there? And herpmist is the way to go.

1) HD didn't have the black screen but Lowes did..ticked me off cause I had to pay cash instead of charging it on my wifes HD card;)

2) Yeah, I've read about the ice cubes, I guess I should tell Joe to stop drinking it. Its DI filtered cubes but you know how fast those cheap ice makes DI carts\filters run out. Its just easier for Cole (my 6 year old son) to drop a couple cubes on the cage...lol, wont be easy any more will it:D

3) There's a drain at the bottom, reg bathroom sink type drain. I think it will be more used for clean up. Joe's a regular guy, I mean REGULAR...His poops will put a cat to shame.

Thanks Debby, that's cool coming from a builder...

Just Joe (veil) I guess he's about 8 months old. Real pain in the butt if you know what I mean. Its for my son and that's what its all about. He helped with the build (ask him, he'll tell ya he built it and I just helped)

He's has these guys too. I guess I should pony up (steal the wifes HD card) and build a nice enclousre for them. I lucked out on these guys. I have a good freind who knows somebody.

I wouldn't change a thing about that cage (well, save for the upcoming addition). :) It looks fantastic. Contrast is definitely the way to go.

Those leopards look way cool, too. Be careful with that sand substrate, though. Even if it's calcium sand, too much of it is a bad thing (it will neutralize stomach acid).

thanks Jason, for now their on paper towels...

Tell me what you all think....as you can see the enclosure sits in front of a window, a south facing window that gets lots of direct sunlight during the day. Do you think it would be a good idea to cut away half of the solid back, say the top half and screen that in?

I'm not sure on natural sunlight. Having an reef tank on a south facing exterior wall isn't the best thing because of the added heat.

Thanks Justin..I don't know about your house but at mine we can open the windows;) I'm with you tho man. I'm going to have to see how things go. I'm doing lots of reading now. I hate it cause the more reading I do the more money I spend.

I'm trying to cut back on power as much as possible. I've had my reef tank down for about 6 months now. I'm getting ready to start back fresh with that. The power used on a 120 gal full blown sps tank is crazy here in So Cal.

thanks again for the link. It sounds like it might not be worth it to use the window...

RichLee,
I'm by no means a wood guy. If I were going to go darker I would have gone with oak rather then pine. I didn't like the way the pine took the dark stain (center trim) I'm probably going to swap it out and try and match the panel color.
