Correct and did it come with the 5.0 bulb or 10.0 bulb? normally it is the 5.0 but the distance is going to differ based on bulb strength. If it is a 5.0 bulb you have to have a full 11 inches between the bottom of the fixture and the branch this will put him in a 3.0 UVI where he rises off the branch.

ok then you need more space between the branch and the bulb. looking at at least 10-11 inches to get him back down in a 3 uvi. Where it is now he is rising up above a 6 UVI which is not recommended.
