Fired Up!

So this is the second time I asked this. None of the prior suggestions worked. I really, really want to see my little panther in all his glory, but he spends a LOT of time basking, so he's usually in darker colors. When he does show off, I almost never have a camera. He's really hard to get riled up. I haven't even seen him puff in weeks! Can anyone throw me some tips?

Of course, if you have a female to introduce him to he'll go into display mode. Never tried using a photo of a female, wonder if that would work?

What about taking him outside for some sun? At first they get dark absorbing heat but then they lighten up and mine usually look great.

I've spoiled him... He knows when he climbs into my hand that he's going outside, so he's already in basking mode as soon as I get him on his plant...

And sometimes, he will turn bright, but I was hoping to see him all puffed up and showing everything he's got. Everyone's got a picture like that but me! Haha

Try all sorts of stuff. My favorite male would get really, really beautiful when I showed him my guinea pigs. They made him so mad! It was funny to watch. He scared the poop out of them though.

Lol!
Just so happens my brother did just get a hamster... =]

You're not the only one, dont worry. My mitsio shows off all the time, but my faly never really fires up either. His colours brighten a little but nothing out of the ordinary and I've only ever seen his chin puff up once. He's just mellow. And I like him that way. I cant get good pictures, but he has a lovely sweet personality that is nice to spend time with. That's more important to me.
I've tried taking him outside since it always works for the other guy, but he just gets brown outside no matter what the weather. I tried a mirror once and he puffed up and brightened but it really wasnt that different from his happy colours so I didn't want to stress him any more. I just gave up - I guess if he's got other colours to show me, well i'll see them when he's *#~^ good & ready. Lol.
(I did however try walking him by the new lady's cage to see if there was a reaction, but nope, nothing. :)
Picture it his way, if your guy was too firey and feisty, maybe you'd never get to get near him. So enjoy him the way he is. Mellow and chill, like my Zelig. :)

Sadly, i have no truely amazing pictures, my camera is never around when my Veil gets fired up. haha And thats a rare day. But when he does, he's blue and yellow and orange! oh and can't forget the purple.
