First Attempt at Breeding Snakes

If you've been following my other thread about the gravid green tree python, my first attempt at breeding snakes of any species is coming to a close. Here they are, baby Aru Island Green Tree pythons selected for high white/high blue! Best of all, just like their dad, they are totally docile! Not a single hisser or biter so far! They're also bigger than I was expecting which should hopefully make the first feedings easier. :D

They are huge!! I like the yellow!! Congratulations! You may have already stated, but when do they change color??? (Sorry for my ignorance, but I have no experience with snakes....)

Thanks! I'm glad it's worked out, too! As for the color change, it usually depends on the locality-type. These Aru's are known to change pretty early. Mine started at 6 and 8 months, respectively. Other locales may not change until they're a couple years old, though.

They look awesome, congratulations! I love that they emerge and immediately go into the coil. Talk about drilled-in instincts!

Great job!!!! I am happy for you, this is my favorite snake. So glad it worked out. However, I wish mine were docile. Mine will gladly sink it's teeth into my arm with no hesitation.

Kent... they look great. Glad to see everything worked out well. I could spend so much money just buying things from you. Jill may kill me though! Still talking her into Buying those babies from ya.

This is great news Kent! Glad to see that they hatched! This is one of my favorite snakes! It's always exciting trying your hand at breeding something different. Congrats on a job well done!!

Thanks, guys! This whole experience has really rekindled my fascination with these snakes. Absolutely amazing seeing them with all their little heads poking out of the eggs but the wait was EXCRUTIATING!
